For most classes you book a category and get this car or a similar one. A few are guaranteed by exact model - our electric cars, the Suzuki Jimny, the GWM Tank 300 and the mine-spec HiLux - and that's noted on the car when it applies.

You book a category, not one exact car. You'll get the model shown or another car of the same class and transmission - sometimes a newer or larger one at no extra cost. It's how rental fleets keep prices down; the class and transmission are what's guaranteed.

This one is automatic. The transmission is shown on every car and confirmed before you book.

Twenty-one for most cars, and 25 for our electric, premium and elite cars and the 12-seater. Drivers under 25 pay a young-driver surcharge of $16.50 a day.

The excess - the most you'd owe if the car is damaged or stolen - is $5,500 or $6,600 by class, shown before you book, and you can reduce it to $550, $1,000 or $0 with a higher cover tier. A separate A$1,000 bond is held, not charged, on your card at pickup and released after return - no bond with zero excess.

Unlimited kilometers, except in the Northern Territory where the smaller classes are limited to 100 km a day (200 for larger) at $0.33/km.

No. Like all our cars - including the 4WDs and utes - it's for sealed roads only. Driving on gravel, beaches, above the snow line or off-road can void your cover, so tell us your route and we'll confirm it fits.

Not when you request. We confirm the car with the supplier first and only then take payment; if we can't confirm, the hold is released.
