Cancellation & Refund Policy

The short version

Your card is charged only once the rental company confirms your car - usually within seconds of booking. After that, the cancellation terms shown on your booking apply - some rates are more flexible than others, and they vary by supplier and country.

Before your booking is confirmed

Most bookings are confirmed in real time, within seconds. If the rental company cannot confirm your car, nothing is charged and any authorization on your card is released.

After your booking is confirmed

Once your car is confirmed and payment is captured, the cancellation terms that apply are those shown on your booking. Whether a cancellation is fully refundable, partly refundable, or non-refundable, along with any cancellation fee or deadline, depends on the supplier and the rate you chose, and is set out on your booking before you pay. Choose a more flexible rate if the option to cancel matters to you.

If we or the supplier cannot provide the car

If your car cannot be confirmed, nothing is charged and any authorization on your card is released. If a confirmed car cannot be provided by the supplier for reasons on our or the supplier's side, you receive a full refund of what you paid to us, or we help you arrange a suitable alternative. This does not affect your rights under applicable consumer protection law.

How refunds are made

Approved refunds are made to the original card used for the booking. Refunds are processed promptly and typically appear within a few business days, depending on your card issuer.

Changing a booking

You can request changes to your dates, cars or cities from your account. Changes are subject to availability and to any difference in price, quoted before you confirm the change. Some changes may be handled as a cancellation and rebooking; if so, this policy applies.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right or remedy you have under applicable consumer protection law, including guarantees that services are provided with due care and skill. Where you are entitled to a remedy under that law, it applies in addition to this policy.
