About niftirent and these terms

niftirent is a car rental booking service operated by Nifti Mobility Group (“we”, “us”). We help you find, book and pay for a rental car, and we support you before, during and after your trip. The car itself is supplied and operated by a professional rental supplier, who is responsible for handing over the vehicle and for the rental at the counter. When you book through us you also agree to the supplier's rental agreement, which you sign at pickup.

These Rental Terms apply to any booking you make with us and sit alongside our Website Terms of Use. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable taxes. By making a booking you confirm that you have read and accept these Rental Terms and our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Your rental's terms are shown before you pay

The specific terms of each rental - including the security deposit, the insurance excess and coverage options, the mileage allowance, the fuel policy, driver age and license requirements, accepted payment methods, available extras and any additional fees - are set by the supplier and depend on the vehicle, the location and the rate you choose. They vary from one booking to another, and from one country and supplier to another.

The exact terms that apply to your rental are shown on your booking before you pay, and are set out in full in the supplier's rental agreement, which you sign at pickup. Those are the terms that govern your rental. The sections below explain how renting with us works in general.

How booking and payment work

You choose a car at one all-in price and book. The rental company confirms your car in real time, usually within seconds, and your card is charged only once it is confirmed; your confirmation and voucher are then emailed to you. If the car cannot be confirmed, nothing is charged. Anything payable at pick-up (such as the security bond with standard cover, or extras you choose) is shown before you book and is settled with the supplier.

Prices

The price you see before you book is the price you pay for the rental as booked, inclusive of applicable taxes. Optional extras are added only if you choose them. Usage-based charges (such as fuel, tolls, or mileage beyond any included allowance) and any refundable deposit are shown on your booking and settled with the supplier under the rental agreement.

Security deposit

Most rentals require a refundable security deposit (also called a bond) to be held on the main driver's card at pickup. A deposit is held, not charged, and is released after you return the vehicle, though it can take a few days to clear back to your card. The deposit amount and the card types accepted for it are shown on your booking and are set by the supplier.

Insurance and excess

Rentals include damage and theft coverage. The coverage comes with an excess, which is the most you would be responsible for if the car is damaged or stolen, and you can often reduce the excess by choosing a higher coverage tier. The excess amounts and coverage options are shown on your booking and vary by supplier and vehicle. Coverage can be reduced or voided if the vehicle is used in breach of these terms or the supplier's rental agreement.

Driver eligibility and license

Minimum driver age, young-driver surcharges and license requirements apply and vary by supplier, country and vehicle; they are shown on your booking. Every driver must hold a valid, current driver's license and present it at pickup, and only drivers named on the booking and approved by the supplier may drive the car. If your license is not in English, you may need an International Driving Permit or an official English translation alongside it.

Vehicle use

Every rental is subject to the supplier's conditions of use, which can include limits on where and how the vehicle may be driven - for example, permitted road types, geographic areas, and cross-border or island travel. These conditions are shown on your booking and in the supplier's rental agreement, and driving outside them can void your coverage and make you responsible for any resulting loss or damage. If you are unsure whether your route is allowed, tell us before you book and we will confirm it with the supplier. You are responsible for driving lawfully and for any fines or infringements incurred during your rental.

Fuel and mileage

Each rate states its fuel policy and its mileage allowance. Charges for returning the vehicle with less fuel than you collected it with, or for driving beyond an included mileage allowance, are shown on your booking and are set by the supplier.

Extras and additional fees

Optional extras (such as an additional driver, a child seat, a GPS or roadside assistance) and additional fees (such as one-way rental charges, tolls, and traffic or parking fines) may apply. Whatever is available, and its price, are shown on your booking. Usage-based charges are billed after the rental. You are responsible for tolls, fines and any charges arising from your use of the vehicle.

Changes and cancellations

To change your dates, times, car or location, contact us and we will arrange it with the rental company; the price may change with the new details, and we confirm it with you before anything changes. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate booking information, to meet the eligibility and license requirements, to use the vehicle only as permitted in these terms and the supplier's rental agreement, and to return the vehicle on time and in the condition you received it (fair wear and tear excepted). You are responsible for charges arising from your use of the vehicle, including fuel, tolls, extra mileage, traffic or parking fines, and any damage or loss not covered by your coverage tier.

Our role, liability and your consumer rights

We act as a booking agent: we arrange and support your rental, and a third-party supplier provides and operates the vehicle. The supplier's rental agreement governs the physical rental, condition of the vehicle and events at the counter.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability to you for the booking service is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the amount you paid to us for the affected booking. We are not liable for loss you could have reasonably avoided, or for matters outside our reasonable control.

The booking confirmation prevails

We may update these Rental Terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your booking are those shown when you send your request, together with the specific terms shown on your booking confirmation and the supplier's rental agreement, which prevail if there is any difference. This is what lets these terms stay accurate as we add cities, countries and suppliers.
