Compare the trip total

  • Compare the trip total, not the daily rate. A low daily rate can turn into a bigger total once cover, extra drivers or a one-way trip are added. On niftirent the total for your dates is what you compare, and you see what's included before you pay.
  • Compare the cover as well as the car. Every car comes with standard cover. Standard cover has a deductible of A$5,500 (est. US$3,850) for economy and compact cars and intermediate hatchbacks and sedans, and A$6,600 (est. US$4,600) for larger cars. Zero deductible cover takes that to zero on every car except the 12-seater. Both prices are shown, so you can decide whether the peace of mind is worth it for your trip.
  • Compare by what you need. Filter by seats, bags and car type. Every car you can book on niftirent in Australia is automatic. Families can look at people movers and 8-seaters. Outback trips can look at 4WDs.
  • Compare in your own currency. Prices show in your currency on your first visit (Australian, US or Canadian dollars, pounds or euros), and the currency menu changes it any time. Converted amounts are marked est.
  • What isn't in the online price. Paid to the rental company at pickup, not in our price: the young driver fee for drivers aged 21 to 24 at A$16.50 (est. US$12) a day, extras you add at the counter (like extra drivers or child seats), and an EV charging fee if an electric car comes back under 20% battery. Tolls and fines are billed to your card later, under the rental company's terms.

Quick answers

Is zero deductible cover worth it?
It depends on the trip. It takes the deductible from up to A$6,600 (est. US$4,600) to zero on most cars, and with it there's no A$1,000 (est. US$700) bond on your card, just an A$1 check. Compare both prices for your dates and choose.
Do I need a credit card?
Yes, a credit card in the main driver's name for the security hold at pickup. Cash and prepaid cards aren't accepted.
What's included in the price?
The car for your dates and times, standard cover for damage and theft (with the deductible shown on your car), and Australian GST (10%). You'll see the full list before you pay.
Can I pay in US dollars?
Yes. Pick US$ in the currency menu and you're charged in US dollars: the total at checkout is the exact amount charged. Anything paid at the counter is in A$, so we show those amounts as est. US$. If your card is in a different currency, your bank may add its own conversion fee.
