Who we are

We are the data controller for the personal information described here.

What we collect

When you request or manage a rental we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, home address, country of residence, and (where the supplier requires it) your date of birth and driver details; your trip details (pickup and return locations and dates, and flight number if provided); and the vehicle and extras you select.

We record the status and history of your booking, any changes or cancellations, and messages you send us. We do not store copies of your identity or license documents - our checklist only records that a document was received.

Card payments are handled by a specialist payment processor; full card numbers do not reach our servers.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information to prepare your quote, process and confirm your rental with the supplier, provide customer support, and meet legal and accounting obligations.

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of your contract (to arrange the rental you request); our legitimate interests (to run and improve the service and prevent misuse); your consent (where we ask for it); and compliance with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary with: the car rental supplier fulfilling your booking; service providers who help us operate (such as hosting, email delivery and payment processing); and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Arranging a rental may mean sharing your details with a supplier located in the country where you are renting. Where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep it

We keep booking and customer records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Our retention period: 7 years after your last booking.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To make a request, contact support@niftirent.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Cookies

The site uses only the minimal cookies needed to make it work (for example to keep your session and your currency choice). We do not use advertising cookies.

With your consent we also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, provided by: Google Analytics 4, Clarity. These are set only after you choose “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner - if you choose “Essential only”, no analytics request is made at all. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and servers that are not exposed to the public internet beyond what is necessary. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
