Driving in Switzerland
Motorways require an annual vignette (motorway sticker); cars supplied for local use carry one, but check before crossing a border into Switzerland. Speed limits are enforced strictly and fines are steep.
Mountain passes are a joy but demand respect - many close in winter, when tunnels or car-carrying trains take over. Roads are immaculate, signage is clear, and fuel is easy to find even high in the mountains.
